Review on synthesis, properties and applications of nanomaterials

Nanomaterials have attracted great interest in recent years because of their unusual mechanical, electrical, electronic, optical, magnetic and surface properties. New technologies in sample preparation and device fabrication evoke on account of the development of nanoscience. Various research fields including physics, chemistry, material science, biology and engineering are involved in this research.Although it is basically impossible to cover all the areas where nanoscale materials are involved, we have made a choice of topics for this review that will provide the reader with a broad overview of the synthesis and characterization techniques. Specific examples of the special properties of these materials and some particular applications of interest are also provided.
