Modelling of total cost of process plants in Ghana

Cost estimation models are used to prepare initial estimates of the cost of new engineering projects or revamping of existing projects. In this study, cost estimating model for the installation of processing plants in Ghana is developed. Simplex algorithmmethod for linear programming is applied to obtain a model for the total cost of installing processing plants in Ghana. Using the purchased equipment cost as the main cost factor, it is shown that the total cost of process plants is related to the purchased equipment cost.
