Feasibility study of a community based micro- hydro system in Chittagong, Bangladesh

Mini and micro hydro are environmental friendly power generation technology for remote micro grid system. Not much work on real feasibility of these types on remote micro grid has yet been reported in Bangladesh. This paper discusses the technical issues on conducting the feasibility study to determine the mini and micro hydro potential in Bangladesh, especially in Chittagong region. This paper also presents the data obtained through field study to give concrete proposal for installing such power plants, which can form a stand-alone micro-grid to ease the electricity crisis in the country.
