Experiment study on the decomposition properties of snail shell
Yijun Zhang, Shengyong Liu, Huimin Wu
Snail shell has been calcined on high temperature. Its main components calciumcarbonate decomposed into CO2and calciumoxide. Calciumoxide is superbase catalyst for the transesterification reaction. By means of differential thermal balance, the decomposition characteristics of snail shell have been studied. And of electron microscope, TEM shows grain morphology characteristics of calcination at different calcining temperature. Organic has decomposed during 257ï¯C-488ï¯C. Decomposition of calcium carbonate starts from 600ï¯C to 800ï¯C, when it was balance. By use of orthogonal analysis, the main influence factors of specific surface area have been optimized. The optimal process parameters are 1050ï¯C calcination temperature, 120ìminitial diameter and 1 hour holding time.
